The Elkhorn Shop is the digital operations hub for Elkhorn Hotshots LLC, a professional diesel repair and maintenance shop based in Ucon, Idaho. Our platform was built to bring the entire shop — from the front office to the mechanic in the bay — onto one streamlined system so work moves faster, parts are tracked accurately, and fleet downtime is kept to a minimum.
What the app does: it manages the full lifecycle of diesel truck and trailer service. Shop staff use it to track the "broken board" of incoming repairs, schedule preventive maintenance, assign mechanics and time-track jobs, manage tire and parts inventory with QR scanning, generate quotes and invoices for customers, file receipts with warranty tracking, monitor equipment documentation like insurance and IFTA registrations through automated alarms, and run a time-card and shift-scheduling system for the team. A public-facing landing page lets customers request quotes, while background-check tooling helps screen new hires.
Who it is for: the shop's owners and administrators who oversee operations and finances, the management team handling scheduling and quotes, the diesel mechanics doing the hands-on work, and drivers submitting maintenance requests for their equipment. Each role sees only the tools relevant to them.
Who builds it: the platform is built and maintained in-house for Elkhorn Hotshots LLC, run by Shawn Horn. It is tailored specifically to the realities of a working diesel shop — not a generic garage app — and it continues to evolve based on what the team needs day to day.
